Animation of rigging a bobber: clip the bobber 3 to 4 feet above the hook, pinch a split shot 6 inches above the hook, thread a nightcrawler over the point, cast near weeds, and lift when the bobber dips — Step by step: bobber 3–4 ft above the hook, split shot 6 in. above it, worm covering the point.

A nightcrawler threaded up a hook shank with a short tail left hanging — Thread half a nightcrawler so the point is covered.

Step by step

Clip a bobber onto your line 3–4 feet above the hook.
Pinch one split shot onto the line about 6 inches above the hook.
Thread half a nightcrawler onto the hook so the point is covered.
Cast near the edge of weeds and let the bait settle.
When the bobber dips under, reel up the slack and lift the rod.
No action in 10 minutes? Move the bobber a foot deeper.
